Our trailers allow rafts to be transported stacked in a single pile in shorter models, or in two parallel piles on long platforms, optimizing usable space and reducing logistics costs.

All models leave the factory hot-dip galvanized (key to withstand continuous river washing and sediment-laden water), with a Spanish technical sheet and a 2-year warranty. Why a specific trailer for rafting

An inflatable rafting raft is not a conventional load. It measures between 3.5 and 5 meters long when inflated, 1.8-2.2 meters wide, and weighs between 40 and 150 kg depending on capacity (6 to 14 people). Transporting it on a generic trailer implies three specific problems that clubs and individuals quickly discover:

Insufficient width.

A standard 1.70 m wide cargo trailer does not allow stacking 2 m rafts without a dangerous overhang. Wide platforms of 2.00-2.44 m usable width are needed.

Poorly located tie-downs.

Stacked rafts need tie-downs with transverse slings that cross the entire pile, not scattered points that move with highway sway.

Corrosion resistance.

Painted trailers rust quickly in real rafting use: weekly hose washing, river sediment in axles, constant material moisture. That's why all our trailers are hot-dip galvanized with a 15-20 year lifespan.

Stacked capacity: how many rafts fit in each size

This is the calculation that determines the trailer. A standard rafting raft (6-8 people) measures around 4 meters inflated and can be comfortably stacked with textile or rubber separators without needing to be deflated. The operating rule:

The decision between a high stack or two parallel stacks is not just about capacity: the two stacks better distribute the weight over the axles (useful for having a lower MMA with the same payload) and reduce the overall height of the assembly (better aerodynamics, less fuel consumption). A 7.8 m trailer with two stacks transports the same as an 8.4 m one with a single stack but weighs less empty and is more stable.

Who these trailers are for

Rafting clubs and sports associations.

They need to move 3-6 rafts between training sessions and competitions. The typical model is a 5.4-6.0 m single-stack trailer.

Multi-adventure and active tourism companies.

They move large fleets during the season (Pyrenees, Cuenca, Murillo de Gállego, Noguera Pallaresa, Sella). They need 6.6-8.4 m with two parallel stacks to transport 8-16 rafts in a single trip.

Private athletes.

Their own 6-8 person raft + oars and equipment. A 4.2-5.4 m single-stack trailer is sufficient.

Educational centers and sports schools.

Same fleet logic, with higher rotation and wear. Hot-dip galvanizing is especially cost-effective here.

Multifunction use off-season

The rafting season in Spain concentrates a lot of activity between May and September. A frequent problem for multi-adventure companies is that the trailer is idle for half the year. Our platforms are designed to accept other uses off-season without modifications: transport of kayaks, canoes, and paddle surf with the same textile tie-downs; transport of mountain equipment (bicycles, skis, climbing gear); and use as a generic loading platform for auxiliary material or sports event stands.

This turns the trailer into an annual asset, not a seasonal one — key for the profitability of the multi-adventure business.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to deflate the rafts to transport them?

No. The rafts are inflated and stacked. Only a little pressure is reduced (so they don't suffer from summer heat) but they maintain shape and volume.

How many rafting rafts fit on a trailer?

It depends on the length of the trailer and whether they are stacked in one or two piles. Indicative: 3 rafts on a 4.2 m trailer (1 pile), 8-10 rafts on a 6.6 m trailer (2 parallel piles), up to 14-16 rafts on an 8.4 m trailer. See table above for details by raft size.

What license do I need to tow a rafting trailer?

For a trailer with MMA ≤ 750 kg, a standard B license. For a fleet of 4+ rafts (typical MMA 1,500-2,000 kg), a B96 license. For a large 3,500 kg MMA trailer, a B+E license. We will calculate the exact MMA for your fleet.

Does the trailer withstand hose washing and river sediment?

Yes. That's why all our trailers are hot-dip galvanized (not painted). Galvanizing protects against corrosion from humidity, salt, and sediment. It's the only recommended finish for intensive rafting use.

Can I use the same trailer for a kayak or canoe off-season?

Yes. Flat platforms with textile tie-down points accept kayaks, canoes, and paddle surf without specific adapters. Many multi-adventure clients make it profitable as an annual use asset.

How much does a rafting trailer cost in Spain?
