Why it weighs less
At 8 meters in length, most boats exceed 2,000 kg with engine and equipment. The boat-plus-trailer combination always requires a tandem axle and, frequently, a gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 2,700 kg. Choosing the right trailer becomes technical. Load distribution, suspension system, and unladen weight all come into play.
Our 8-meter trailers maintain the characteristic weight advantage of the entire range. The unladen weight is 15% to 25% lower than equivalent European models. This means several hundred kilograms of leeway for a heavier hull, a 200-300 HP outboard engine, and complete equipment, without exceeding the approved 3,500 kg GVW.
The construction uses 3 mm thick hot-dip galvanized steel in the structural profiles, compared to the standard 1.5 mm. The double wall thickness is noticeable under dynamic loads at highway speeds, especially in curves and braking with a boat on board.
What license you need
At 8 meters, the vehicle-plus-trailer combination almost always exceeds 4,250 kg.
- B+E license: mandatory for most configurations. Allows for a combined weight up to 7,000 kg.
- C1+E license: if the combined weight exceeds 7,000 kg, which is common for boats over 2,500 kg dry weight and a heavy towing vehicle.
