Three heavy-haulage families in a single category

This category brings together the trailers built for professional transport of concentrated loads or vehicles. Three main families according to real use:

Machinery Trailers from 2,700 to 3,500 kg gross weight

Reinforced flatbeds from 4.0 to 4.8 metres for carrying a mini excavator, Bobcat, electric lift platform, skid-steer loader or industrial mower. Built-in ramps, lashing rings every 50 cm and a payload of 1,910 to 3,080 kg depending on configuration. Available with twin axles (1,350-1,800 kg per axle) and triple axles (1,500-1,800 kg per axle) when the real load exceeds 2,500 kg. Prices from €4,950 + VAT.

Container Trailers 20FT (6 x 2.44 m)

Five configurations for carrying a standard 20-foot container or a site sanitary cabin. Payload of 2,810 to 2,940 kg on twin and triple axles. ISO twist locks at the four lower corners of the bed. Suited to haulage firms, mobile container rental companies and construction businesses. Prices between €5,200 and €5,900 + VAT.

Trailers for quads, UTVs and off-road vehicles

Load beds with a dedicated tie-down system for quads, buggies, side-by-sides and light 4x4 vehicles. Wheel guide rails, reinforced lashing rings and folding ramps. Suited to private owners, off-road clubs, competition teams and adventure tourism operators. Gross weight configurable to suit the weight of the vehicle being carried.

Why our trailers weigh up to 100 kg less without losing capacity

The technical difference that decides most purchases in the professional segment is the trailer's tare weight. The reason is arithmetic: the legal gross weight of the combination (car + trailer + load) is capped by the car, not by the trailer. Every kilo of tare weight the trailer saves is an extra kilo of payload.

Typical configuration from the catalogue: a 4.8 x 1.8 m machinery trailer rated at 3,500 kg gross weight with a tare weight of 670-880 kg. Spanish-built equivalents with the same gross weight declare a tare weight of between 800 and 980 kg. Real difference: 100-150 kg less dead chassis.

That difference comes from a 2 mm steel chassis (against the 1.5 mm standard) plus optimised frame geometry: H-section side members, reinforcement only at load points, stronger axles instead of a heavier frame. Same legal limit, more machinery on board. On jobs where payload is the figure that decides whether the trip pays, that margin is what counts.

Every model is hot-dip galvanised by full immersion. Genuine corrosion protection for heavy use, site exposure, rain, coastal salt air and extreme temperatures.

Which gross weight and which driving licence apply to you

Before choosing a model, check field F.2 (the car's gross weight) and field O.1 (maximum braked towing mass) on your tow vehicle's registration document. That sum determines the licence you need.

If you are unsure which combination applies to you, read our full guide on the licence you need to tow a trailer, or write to Arnaud with your vehicle's registration document and the machinery you plan to carry.

Twin axle vs triple axle according to the real load

The number of axles depends on three variables: estimated real load, bed length and typical journey.

Twin axle (2 axles of 1,350 or 1,500 kg)

Standard configuration up to 2,700-3,000 kg gross weight. Designed for machinery trailers up to 4.0 m carrying 1,900-2,300 kg. Better manoeuvrability on site and less tyre wear when the trailer often runs empty between jobs. In the catalogue: models at €4,950-€5,300 + VAT.

Triple axle (3 axles of 1,500 or 1,800 kg)

Recommended from 3,500 kg gross weight, 4.8 m lengths and real loads above 2,500 kg. Better motorway stability at full load, braking spread across 6 wheels and less lateral sway with tall or narrow machinery. In the catalogue: models at €5,300-€5,900 + VAT.

Rule of thumb: if you regularly cover more than 100 km at 90% of gross weight on the motorway every month, go for the triple axle. If most trips are short runs to site at 60-70% load, the twin axle covers you safely.

EU type approval and delivery across Spain

Every model arrives with valid EU type approval and can be registered straight away. We handle the DGT paperwork with you from first contact: manufacturer documentation, short-form registration document, registration fee (€99.77 in 2026), compulsory insurance and the first roadworthiness test where applicable.

Usual delivery time: 7 to 15 working days from order confirmation. Shipping anywhere in mainland Spain. For the Balearics and the Canary Islands we quote case by case because of sea freight.

Personal service from our professional team

Whoever takes your first call is the person who handles the order, the delivery and the after-sales. No call centre, no transfers, no support forms. That choice has a commercial reason: professional buyers need a stable contact who knows their case from the first enquiry to the fifth unit.

Our team is available on WhatsApp, phone and email. Send us your car's registration document and describe the machinery you need to move; within 24 hours you get a firm proposal with the recommended model, lead time and a price breakdown including transport.

2-year warranty with full cover

Two years of cover against manufacturing defects on the galvanised chassis, suspension, axles, overrun brake system and original components. Cover applies to intensive professional use. Warranty repairs are handled by Arnaud directly with the European manufacturer, with no paperwork in between.

Q1. What is the difference between a cargo trailer and a utility trailer?

A utility trailer is meant for occasional domestic transport (moving house, garden waste, loose materials) and usually has a 750 kg gross weight with no brakes. A professional cargo trailer (machinery trailers, container trailers, quad trailers) is engineered for heavy concentrated loads, 2,700-3,500 kg gross weight, twin or triple axles and an overrun brake. This category lists professional cargo trailers only.

Q2. What licence do I need for a 3,500 kg gross weight trailer?

It depends on the combined gross weight (car + trailer). If the total exceeds 4,250 kg you need B+E. Between 3,500 and 4,250 kg, B96 is enough. Below 3,500 kg combined, a standard category B licence will do. For a 3,500 kg machinery trailer towed by a car with a 2,500 kg gross weight, B+E is the usual answer.

Q3. How much do the trailers in this category weigh when empty?

Between 380 and 960 kg depending on configuration. A 4.8 x 1.8 m machinery trailer rated at 3,500 kg gross weight weighs 670-880 kg empty. That is up to 100 kg less than Spanish-built equivalents with the same capacity, thanks to the optimised 2 mm chassis. Every kilo of tare weight saved becomes another kilo of legal payload.

Q4. Do they arrive type approved and ready to register in Spain?

They arrive with EU type approval and the paperwork ready for registration with the DGT. The registration fee (€99.77) and compulsory insurance are payable by the buyer. Arnaud guides you through the whole process and hands over the trailer ready to use legally on the road.

Q5. How far can the load overhang the trailer?

On trailers under 750 kg gross weight or behind passenger cars, the load may overhang by 10% of the vehicle length at the rear, never at the front. On trailers over 5 m used for goods transport, an indivisible load may overhang by up to 2 metres at the front and 3 metres at the rear. More detail in the blog post on load dimensions.

Q6. Twin or triple axle in my case?

Twin axle up to 2,700-3,000 kg gross weight and a real load under 2,300 kg. Triple axle from 3,500 kg gross weight, or if you regularly travel on the motorway at over 80% of capacity. The triple axle adds stability and reduces tyre wear on long loaded runs.

Q7. What is your delivery time?

7 to 15 working days from order confirmation for mainland Spain. For the Balearics and the Canary Islands we quote case by case because of sea freight. Delivery to your address or to an agreed pick-up point.

Q8. Is there a discount for fleets or multiple orders?

Yes. For machinery rental firms, construction companies or workshops ordering 3+ units, Arnaud puts together special terms case by case. Ask for a free quote and state your estimated annual volume.

Q9. What exactly does the 2-year warranty cover?

Manufacturing defects in the chassis, galvanising, suspension, axles, overrun brake system and original components. Professional use is covered. It does not cover wear and tear, damage from overloading or accidents. Repairs handled directly by Arnaud with the manufacturer.
