Why it weighs less
A 7-metre boat with the engine fitted weighs between 800 and 1,200 kg dry. With fuel, equipment and accessories, the towed load frequently exceeds 1,500 kg. The weight of the trailer itself stops being a technical detail. It decides whether you can keep using your car or need a light truck.
Our 7-metre trailers keep the same weight advantage as the rest of the range. The tare weight sits 15% to 25% below most European manufacturers. That difference keeps the boat-plus-trailer combination within the 3,500 kg gross weight allowed by most mid-segment SUVs and pick-ups.
The chassis uses 3 mm thick steel against the 1.5 mm standard. Twice the wall thickness adds rigidity under asymmetric loads, common when the boat does not sit perfectly centred on the support. Hot-dip galvanising coats the sections with a thick layer of zinc that resists salt corrosion. Expected service life in coastal areas: 10-15 years.
Which licence you need
At 7 metres, the loaded vehicle-plus-trailer combination easily exceeds 3,500 kg.
- Category B licence: valid if the trailer's gross weight is 750 kg, with a combination up to 4,250 kg.
- Category B96 licence: extends the combination to 4,250 kg with trailers over 750 kg.
- Category BE licence: mandatory for combinations between 4,250 and 7,000 kg. The usual choice for 7-metre boats with 90 hp engines or above.
How to choose the support
- Sail or power? Sailboat with a deep keel: sailboat configuration. Power: Multi-Roller or Bunk depending on the hull.
- What is the keel like? Deep V: Flex Roll Multi-Roller. Flat: Bunk.
- Launching on shallow slipways? The Multi-Roller allows gravity launching without submerging your car.
- Tube material? Inflatable PVC: Bunk is mandatory.
