Frequently Asked Questions
Why buy our trailers for your project?
Choosing car trailers from remolque.es has many advantages. We sell direct from the factory.
Lightweight: They are among the lightest on the market (a 6m trailer weighs 570 kg, compared to 650-900 kg from other manufacturers). This is key to not exceeding the 3,500 kg maximum weight limit.
They are customizable: We have a wide variety of models and you can also choose different features and optional extras, so they adapt to the needs of any project without difficulty.
Reliable: With over 2,500 units sold annually in Europe, Vlemmix leads markets such as the Netherlands and Germany, and is a common brand among transport professionals.
Robust: Manufactured according to European standards. The chassis are made with high-quality 2 mm thick steel tubes and the frames are hot-dip galvanized.
Economical: Between 15% and 50% cheaper than similar options from other brands, thanks to their large-scale manufacturing with cost optimization.
What type of car trailer do I need?
The type of trailer you need will depend on how you intend to use it.
- If your project is a tiny house, look for trailers with a rectangular platform. This provides a solid foundation on which to build your mini house.
- If you're looking for a boat trailer, we have V-shaped models and keel supports, which lower the center of gravity and increase stability.
- Industrial trailers, on the other hand, have an open bed that makes loading easier. They also include a rear ramp for easier loading and unloading.
On our website, trailers are organized by category to make it easier to navigate if you're new to the world of trailers. But if you need personalized advice, don't hesitate to contact us.
What is the difference between a classic trailer, a platform trailer, and a detachable trailer?
These are the three types of trailers designed for Tiny House.
- Classic trailers have the platform 52 cm from the ground, but the mudguards protrude 10 cm.
- Platform trailers place the loading platform 62 cm from the ground, leaving the mudguards underneath.
- Detachable trailers allow the chassis to be separated from the platform, giving it independent use.
What information do I need to choose the right model for my project?
There are several important factors, but the main ones are the dimensions of the load and the load capacity you need to tow .
It might also be relevant to know the type of project , the terrain where the vehicle will be driven, and the characteristics of the vehicle towing the trailer. All of this can influence the decision.
If you want personalized guidance, we recommend having all this information on hand when you call or write to us, as we will ask for it to offer you the best option.
Can I customize my trailer?
You can select so many aspects of your trailer (number of axles, location, actual load capacity, dimensions or optional accessories) that the trailer is almost custom-made .
In addition, you can add optional extras such as support legs, a spare wheel, black alloy wheels, reinforced steel fenders, or axle-mounted shock absorbers, among others. See the extras section in our product sheets for more details.
In some cases, these extras can be installed later, but we recommend configuring them from the start for better integration.
How long will it take to receive the trailer after placing the order?
Delivery usually takes between 4 and 6 weeks. Contact us for a more precise estimate based on our current production schedule.
Do you ship to all of Spain?
Yes, we ship throughout Spain, including the islands.
We deliver the trailers with a direct shipment from the Vlemmix factory or through our distribution network in Spain.
We'll provide you with a shipping quote based on your location. Depending on your location and needs, we'll arrange transport to your requested address.
Can I use my trailer with Spanish registration in other European countries?
Yes, our trailers comply with European homologation standards, allowing their use in any country within the European Union. However, we recommend that you familiarize yourself with the specific traffic regulations in each country.
Do you need a special driver's license to tow a trailer?
It will depend on the total weight of the combination: vehicle, trailer, and load. If the total weight does not exceed 3,500 kg, a standard driver's license (category B) is sufficient. That's why it's important that our trailers are both lightweight and robust.
However, if the total weight exceeds this limit, a B+E or C license will be required, depending on the weight and configuration of the trailer.
How is trailer registration handled?
Our trailers are approved in Spain according to European regulations. After purchase, we will provide you with all the necessary documentation (certificate of approval, invoice, and other paperwork) so you can register your trailer with the DGT (Spanish Traffic Authority).
Is it necessary to have specific insurance for the trailer, separate from the vehicle?
Yes, you will need to include the trailer in your vehicle insurance or take out specific insurance. This will ensure that both the trailer and its cargo are protected in the event of an accident or incident.
